UFC 148 Will Still Be Worth The Money

There have been tons of changes to UFC 148 due to injuries, but make no mistake about it - this is still going to be a great event.

To start, the main event features Anderson "The Spider" silva vs Chael Sonnen. That fight alone will be worth the money, as Silva/Sonnen has turned into one of the sport's great rivalries. Sonnen was absolutely destroying Silva in their UFC 117 fight before Silva managed to sink in a triangle in the fifth round. Will Sonnen be able to administer another beating on Silva? Will he be able to close the deal this time? What will Silva's gameplan be against Sonnen this time?

This is a very intriguing match-up that features the greatest mixed martial artist of all time against his arch-nemesis.

Moving down the card, the next fight will be Forrest Griffin against Tito Ortiz. Ortiz has already said that he is retiring after this fight, and Griffin may very well retire as well if he loses to the "Huntington Beach Bad Boy". This is a trilogy fight (the fighters have won one fight a piece) that features two UFC legends in what very well may be their last fights.

Sure, this fight has absolutely no title implications, but it should be a fun and emotional fight between two UFC legends.

After that? Cung Le vs Patrick Cote. This will be a fan-friendly slugfest that could easily turn out to be the fight of the night. There is absolutely no way that this turns out to be a boring fight.

Rounding out the main card will be Dong Hyun Kim vs Demian Maia. This fight will be an interesting contrast of styles and could also turn into a very entertaining fight as well.

In short - UFC 148 is still a great card despite all of the injuries.
