UFC 187 Set To Be One of Biggest Cards in UFC History

The UFC seems to be going back to their old ways of absolutely stacking their largest numbered PPV cards.

Case in point - UFC 187. The card, which is set to take place on May 23rd, 2015 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, will feature two high profile title fights.

The main event will see Light Heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones square off against Anthony Johnson. Johnson earned his spot by destroying Alexander Gustafsson earlier in the year, while Jones is coming off of a successful title defense against Daniel Cormier.

Next up in the co main-event is a Middleweight title bout between Vitor Belfort and Chris Weidman. These two were supposed to square off in the main event of UFC 184 but Weidman had to withdraw due to an injury. UFC 184's loss is UFC 187's gain, however, as Weidman/Belfort provides an explosive co-main event.

The third to last fight on the main card will see Donald Cerrone square off against Khabib Nurmagomedov in a #1 contender eliminator fight. Donald Cerrone has been on an absolute tear at Lightweight while Nurmagomedov is the man that nobody wants to face. The winner of this fight will almost surely get the winner of Pettis/dos Anjos, which is set for UFC 185.

The main card looks like this as of this point:

Jon Jones vs Anthony Johnson
Chris Weidman vs Vitor Belfort
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Donald Cerrone
Travis Browne vs Andrei Arlovski
Joseph Benavidez vs John Moraga

Again - an absolutely stacked card. Let's hope that everybody can stay healthy!
