Chael Sonnen Will No Longer Work as Analyst For FOX

A bad month turned even worse for "Chael P. Sonnen" yesterday when both the UFC and FOX announced that they were cutting ties with the former Middleweight and Light Heavyweight title contender.

Earlier this week, the NAC revealed that Sonnen had tested positive for both HGH and EPO during a recent random drug test. This came just a few weeks after Sonnen tested positive for two drugs that were to help him transition off of testosterone replacement therapy.

After the first failed drug test, Sonnen pointed out that he hadn't tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. Instead, he said, the drugs that he had tested positive for were necessary in order to transition off of TRT.

Shortly after the first failed drug test, Sonnen pulled out of his planned fight against Vitor Belfort at UFC 175 and formally announced his retirement.

Sonnen's story of not taking performance enhancing drugs was blown apart following his second failed drug test that included positive tests for both HGH and EPO. The UFC and FOX clearly felt that they couldn't have Sonnen representing their companies anymore, and both announced that they were cutting ties with Sonnen last night.

Sonnen was one of the most popular analysts on the FOX and FOX Sports 1 broadcasts and he appeared to have a long career ahead of him in front of the camera. In addition, Dana White had strongly hinted that Sonnen may one day be the face of the UFC.

All of that is gone now thanks to Sonnen's positive drug tests.
