UFC Planning "Major Event" For September 20th

Shortly after the conclusion of the Ultimate Fighter: China last evening, representatives of the UFC revealed plans to return to both China and Japan.

According to the UFC, their return to Japan will be a "major event", which means that it will almost certainly be a numbered PPV event. The UFC also revealed that they will be hosting the event at the Saitama Super Arena, which has played host to some of the most memorable PRIDE cards in history.

The UFC has hosted two cards at the Saitama Super Arena over the past couple of years.

There are a number of current UFC fighters / former PRIDE fighters who will almost certainly be featured on the September 20th card in Japan.

Mark Hunt, for instance, is a legend in Japan. Would the UFC want to delay an Alistair Overeem/Mark Hunt fight until September? Both fighters are well-known in Japan, and this would be the perfect main or co-main event for any major card in Japan.

Wanderlei Silva is another fighter who the UFC would like to put on this card. However, Silva is slated to fight Chael Sonnen in a few months, and I doubt that he would be ready for a fight in Japan just a few months later.

I canít wait to see what the UFC has planned for the September 20th card.
