Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann To Square Off on August 28th

On August 28th, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Carlos Condit will square off against Martin Kampmann in a Welterweight battle.

This fight is a rematch of the classic battle that took place at UFC Fight Night: Condit vs Kampmann on April 1st, 2009. That fight, which was won by Martin Kampmann via split decision, is largely heralded as being one of the best UFC fights of all time.

Condit and Kampmann will get after it again in the main event of UFC on Fox Sports 1: Condit vs Kampmann on August 28th.

The UFC is clearly hoping that these two fighters will be able to recreate some of the magic of their 2009 battle. After all, both fighters are very hungry to reestablish themselves in the Welterweight division. Condit is coming off of two straight losses (GSP, Hendricks), while Hendricks is looking to rebound after a disappointing loss to Johny Hendricks. Condit, while in no danger of being cut, certainly doesn't want to drop his third fight in a row, while Kampmann is looking to reestablish himself as a contender to the Welterweight title.

This should be a good old-fashioned slugfest, and I personally can't wait. Of all of the fights that the UFC will be putting on in August, this just might end up being the best of the bunch.
